These grapes were selected from vineyards in Marlborough's Wairau Valley and the neighboring Awatere Valey. Fast draining, alluvial loams over gravelly sub soils in these valleys provide ideal growing conditions for our Sauvignon Blanc. Individual blocks were targeted for their strengths and overall contribution to the blend.
Vibrant pale pink in colour this wine has inviting aromas of fresh summer fruits. On the palate it has flavours of strawberries with a touch of creaminess alongside ripe summer berry fruit.
The 2006 Marlborough Pinot Noir has an attractive nose of dark cherry and comes across more Central Otago than Marlborough with good definition and crispness.
These grapes are from Ballochdale Estate which is the highest vineyard in Marlborough. Hand harvested and fermented in small fermenters until dry, the wine was aged in oak barrel for 10 months.
This merlot is from 2 vineyards in Hawke’s Bay, one inland & one on the coast. Soft & full the wine age for three to four years with careful cellaring.
This wine is made grapes grown on the site of a world war II airbase. Sheltered from the cool southherly wind, the grapes are able to rippen fully giving a tropical stlye of sauvignon blanc.
